- M&Ms came into existence when Forrest Mars Sr. visited Spain during the civil war and noticed that the soldiers were eating sugar coated snacks.
- In 1954, when the candies were popular among the public, the founder added color to the sugar-coated candy.
- The red color M&Ms were removed in 1976 because the red dye used to color the candy was not FDA approved.
- Mars noticed that the candy did not melt in the hands hence in the slogan - "'Milk Chocolate Melts In Your Mouth, Not In Your Hands'.
- Green is the most popular color for M&M. It is considered to be the female and all the other colors are considered as male.
