- Oil pastels consist of pigment mixed with a non-drying oil and wax binder.
- They do not dry by oxidation, they harden over time.
- Almost any surface will work for an oil pastel substrate- canvas, wood panel, paper etc.
- They become soft at a temperature of 80 and above.
- Paper towels or a hand towel are used for wiping off messy sticks.
