  1. Jellyfish appeared about 650 million years ago and are found in deep seas and sometimes in freshwater.
  2. Jellyfish eat small plants (phytoplankton), copepods (crustacean zooplankton), fish eggs and other small fish called larvae.
  3. They are food for a number of marine animals such as large fish and turtles.
  4. A group of jellyfish is called bloom.
  5. Jellyfish do not have a respiratory system since their skin is thin enough that the body is oxygenated by diffusion.
