- The name came from from Adi Dassler on 18 August 1949. The acronym All Day I Dream About Sport, although sometimes considered the origin of the Adidas name, was applied retroactively, which makes it a backronym.
- The Adidas “three striped” logo was designed by Adidas founder Adi Dassler and was first used on Adidas footwear in 1947.
- Adidas is the parent company to many other brands including Reebok and Rockport.
- The Adidas empire is worth an estimated $15 billion.
